How it works

How to make a font from an image

  1. 01

    Upload your lettering

A logo, a poster, a street sign, a screenshot or a page of handwriting. Say what it shows, and add a language if you need its accents.

  2. 02

    AI draws the whole alphabet

It studies the strokes, curves, slant and proportions, then draws A–Z, a–z, digits and punctuation in that style, including letters your image doesn't show.

  3. 03

    Fix, download and type

Every letter is traced into a real font. Touch up any letter in the editor, then download it as OTF, TTF, WOFF or WOFF2.

FAQ

Questions

How do I create a font from an image?

Upload the image and say whether it shows lettering, handwriting or cursive. AI redraws the whole alphabet in that style, every letter is traced into a font, and you download it. It usually takes under a minute.

Can I turn my handwriting into a font?

Yes. Write a few words or the alphabet on plain paper with a dark pen, take a sharp photo, and choose Handwriting or cursive. Letters that aren't in your photo are drawn to match your hand, and joined-up writing keeps its connecting strokes so the letters join when you type.

Can I make a font from a logo?

Yes, from the lettering in it. A single word is enough to capture the style; the more different letters the image shows, the closer the rest of the alphabet will match. Only use lettering you own or have permission to copy.

Which file formats do I get?

OTF and TTF to install on Mac and Windows and use in apps like Word, Photoshop, Figma and Cricut Design Space, plus WOFF and WOFF2 for websites. The OTF download is free; each other format costs 5 credits once per font.

Which languages does the font cover?

Every font has A to Z in both cases, the digits and common punctuation. You can add the accented letters for one of 22 European languages, every European accent at once, or Cyrillic for Ukrainian, Belarusian, Bulgarian, Serbian and Macedonian.

Is it free?

You get 15 free credits without signing up, enough for 1 font. Sign in with Google and you get 15 free credits every month. A new font uses 10 credits, and you can buy more credits if you need them.

Can I fix letters that come out wrong?

Yes. Click any letter to open the editor: draw, erase, bend a stroke, make it bolder, or change its size, position and spacing. Saving a letter uses 1 credit and rebuilds the font straight away.

What happens to my image?

Your image is sent to an AI image service only to redraw the lettering; the font itself is built on our server. We keep your font for about 30 minutes so you can edit it, so download it before you leave.
