How it works

Generate a dynamic QR code in three steps

1 · Make the code

Open the QR code generator, enter your web address, pick shapes, colours and your logo, and tick “Editable code with scan counts”.

2 · Print it

Download PNG or SVG and put it on menus, flyers, packaging, posters or business cards. The code holds a short link, like kaytey.com/q/menu.

3 · Change it, track it

In My QR codes, send the code to a new page whenever you like and watch the scans come in. The printed code never changes.

QR code tracking

See who scans, and what they do next

Every scan is counted before the person is sent on: by day, by country and by kind of phone. Bots and link previews are left out.

UTM tags are added to your address, so Google Analytics, or any analytics on your site, shows those visits as QR traffic and what they did next: a booking, an order, a sign-up. Change the tags per code, or switch them off.

FAQ

Questions

What is a dynamic QR code?

A dynamic QR code holds a short link instead of your address. The short link sends people on to wherever you choose, so you can change where a printed code goes, and every scan can be counted. A static code holds your address in the pattern itself, so it can never change.

How do I make a dynamic QR code?

Start QR Business, open the QR code generator, enter your web address, style the code and tick “Editable code with scan counts”. Download it as PNG or SVG and print it. Change where it goes any time in My QR codes.

Are dynamic QR codes free?

Static QR codes are free here forever, with no sign-up and no scan limit. Dynamic codes need a server to forward and count every scan, so they are part of QR Business at $6 a month or $48 a year. If you cancel, your printed codes keep working.

How does QR code tracking work?

Each scan passes through the short link, which counts it by day, by country and by kind of phone before sending the person on. UTM tags are added to your address, so Google Analytics or any analytics on your site shows what people did after scanning.

Is the tracking privacy-friendly?

We count scans, not people. No cookies, no IP addresses and nothing that identifies the person scanning is kept: only the day, the country and the kind of phone.

Can I make an existing static code dynamic?

No. A static code holds its address in the pattern, so it can’t be redirected. Make a new dynamic code and use it on your next print run.

What happens to my codes if I cancel?

They keep working and keep going where you last sent them. Changing them and seeing scan counts pause until you start QR Business again.
